So, what is the Get A Word In Edgeways Festival Hybrid Concert?

The Hybrid concert is a free mixed-location live and online event held in partnership with the World Storytelling Café.
To be part of our live session (or part thereof!), you will find it in the Fire Station, hosted by Despina. To enjoy it on line, head over to https://worldstorytellingcafe.com/
Saturday 10th Oct starting at 5pm UK time
Despina presents the wonderful Jim Brule, aka “the transformational storyteller”. He shares info about his new project called “Healing Monsters”, shares a story to demonstrate how we can work with the particular monster or any in its place to take us out of the darkness and into the light. Duration 45 minutes
At 5:50pm Rachel Smith and Despina co-host a story round. Rachel shows us how we can share personal tales, and people attending can follow her lead or share any story they like, out of the darkness and into the light with monsters or not.
The event ends when everyone has shared a story.
Sunday 11 Oct starting at 11:30am UK time
Despina presents Dan Sedgewick, aka “the sober storyteller” who will spend the next 30 minutes weaving his personal trajectory out of addiction in other stories, and hopefully become a role model to people still struggling with addiction(s). (A bright example of light in the darkness we think!)
At 12 noon Despina starts interviewing festival artists starting with Keith Rogers who’ll be holding the fort at the fire station, followed by Zahra, Ed Willcox, and John Row
At 12:40 Dan goes out and about Much Wenlock connected on his phone and shows us the different venues and talks with people he meets about GAWIE and their experience there.
At 1pm we are back at the fire station, where Despina will interview this year’s lady Mayor.
The end of the mayoral interview concludes the hybrid event.
