GAWIE at Wenlock’s CORONATION PICNIC!

GAWIE HAS A STORYTELLING YURT FOR THE CORONATION PICNIC ON THE GREEN in the Holy Trinity Church Green, Monday 7th May from 2pm

In GAWIE’s yurt will be local Storyteller, SIMON MARTIN, who will be telling family-friendly tales over the day.

Bring your ears, picnic blankets, chairs, gazebos and a picnic to the green and celebrate the King’s Coronation on Sunday, 7th May.

Simon Martin loves sharing tales with people across the generations, from pre-school to centenarians, and all ages between. His favourite audience is of families, grandparents, parents, and children all together – we can be interactive, spontaneous and playful.

The adults are able to rediscover the joy of being told a story and the children get an imagination workout.

Telling tales of origins, of taking the pompous down a peg or two, the inventiveness and fallibility of the human spirit and that liminal space between the seen and the unseen is typical of his genre, and tales inspired by a lifelong love of the natural world and its creatures. He tells of an eclectic mix; tongue in cheek, thought provoking and fun. If there is a message in the stories it is understated and there for you to discover.

The tales he chooses are all quite short, 7 or 8 minutes at most, which allows for adjusting a set as it goes along along. Come and join him on a journey into the imagination where all things are possible…

The Yurt!

On the green there will be a bar, tea, coffee and cakes available to buy, along with entertainment from Get A Word In Edgeways. a DJ, a Ukulele band and the Got2sing choir. There will also be an inflatable obstacle course and a climbing wall available.
