Thursday October 12th, 8:00-10:00 PM
Green Roads, Concrete Skies
We had a great evening of tales and collaboration from our performers on this, our last online concert!
Collaborating were Amy Boucher and Peter Carty, with solo acts from Zahra Afsah and Casey Bailey. We had, of course, our highly popular Cath’s Cupboard of Customs, too!
Amy is a writer and folklorist, who focuses on her native Shropshire. Her emphasis is primarily on the interplay between folklore, history and the paranormal, and perceptions of the past through the lens of folk beliefs. She is a writer for Haunted magazine and Ghostmag, has recently written an audio drama about Shropshire’s satanic folklore, and shares Shropshire’s folklore via her blog – Nearlyknowledgeablehistory.blogspot.com
Peter is Countryside Manager South Shropshire and Kinver Edge at National Trust
Formerly, he has been a warden at Egilsay and Rousay Orkney , Aride Island Seychelles and Sandscale Haws National Nature Reserve
He studied Applied Biology at Liverpool John Moores University
Zahra was born and raised in Tehran. She studied Art and Archaeology at SOAS and in 2016 completed her second MA in Persian Painting and Transcultural Visuality at the Courtauld Institute of Art. Her MA dissertation examines the links between oral storytelling
A poet and conscientious rapper is how Casey Bailey would describe himself, shunning some of the more typical subject areas for this genre of music and focusing on highlighting the issues that have blighted his community.
